A Dedicated Team Committed to Student Achievement

College Advising Team is a collective of experienced higher education professionals committed to helping students navigate some of the most important academic and career decisions of their lives. Based in Palo Alto and serving students both locally and globally through virtual advising, our work is rooted in thoughtful strategy, personalized attention, and deep knowledge of the admissions landscape. We support high school students, transfer applicants, college students, and aspiring graduate candidates as they clarify goals, strengthen applications, and move confidently toward their future. Every student’s journey is different, and our approach reflects that individuality with structure, insight, and care.

Built on Nearly Two Decades of Student Advocacy

College Advising Team was established in 2018 after nearly twenty years of working closely with high school and college students in educational, admissions, and mentorship settings. Over the years, we witnessed firsthand how access to informed guidance can dramatically impact a student’s confidence and outcomes. Those experiences shaped our vision for a counseling practice centered on clarity, strategy, and empowerment. What began as a passion for supporting students evolved into a formal organization dedicated to helping young people navigate complex academic systems with greater understanding and purpose. Our foundation is built on long-term commitment to student growth, not short-term results.

Guided by Ethics, Grounded in Professional Standards

College Advising Team operates in alignment with NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission, reflecting our firm commitment to integrity, transparency, and principled conduct. We believe that ethical guidance is essential when supporting students through the transition to postsecondary education and the transfer process between institutions. Our adherence to these professional standards ensures that students and families receive honest, accurate, and responsible advising. We do not promise guaranteed admissions outcomes, nor do we compromise authenticity in the application process. Instead, we prioritize fairness, student ownership, and thoughtful strategy—ensuring every recommendation and interaction upholds the highest level of professional integrity.

Teamwork and a True Sense of Belonging

We believe every student deserves equitable access to opportunity, informed guidance, and a supportive environment where they feel valued and understood. We are committed to honoring the unique cultural, academic, and personal experiences that shape each student’s journey. Our team-based approach is rooted in respect, open dialogue, and thoughtful advocacy, ensuring that students from all backgrounds feel confident navigating educational systems that may not always feel accessible. By creating space for authentic voices and diverse perspectives, we help students pursue their goals with dignity, belonging, and empowerment.

Our Mission

Equitably advise our students, providing access and opportunity to college and career explorers. We are committed to ensuring every student receives personalized guidance that honors their aspirations and potential.

Our Vision

Empower students and early professionals to pursue a path towards a fulfilling career, raising confidence and peace of mind while reinforcing transferable skills, self-awareness and personal growth along the way.
